Does anyone actually call the Miata an "MX-5"?

All of England, because they didn't sell it as a "Miata" there. Just MX-5.

mexico calls it mx-5 but my friends and i know the Miata name and use it instead.

MX5 only here. Or Eunos Roadster for imported early ones. No one knows the miata name here other than car guys.

In good ol' USA nope. Only known as the Miata here. They might call it something else but even sales people call it the Miata.

It's MX5 for us. But a lot of the JDM imports end up over here, known as the Eunos roadster so that gets tossed around too!

Most of the shops that call me call it a MX-5. Or worse. Mazda 5. M5. Sometimes I hear MX-5 Miata. Or they butcher "Miata".

It's not really even renamed, it originally had MX-5 as part of its name even in North America. Its full name was " Mazda MX-5 Miata "

I will have to ask my hairdresser, the gay guy down the street or his boyfriend, and my 5th grade divorcée teacher what they call it.

JK the midlifers vary based on testosterone levels and non-wife female proximity. The younger guys taunt with Miata, but the ones with say MX5. Until someone does the "ohhh, a Miata" and totally ruins their cred.

I'm old. It's a Miata. It doesn't matter what's on the bootlid.

I have a british friend who calls it the "Mazda remexfive". I've heard other brits call it this. Not sure where this accent is from, though.
